Just one more row

Here is the type of pattern I find difficult to put down. This is the first project using a chart, (besides fair isle) and now prefer them to patterns that are written out. Took a few rows to get used to it, and there is an error or two, but the recipient won't mind. The yarn is Vanna's Choice Baby in Little Boy Blue. The color is off on our monitor, hope to get a more accurate photo when it's done. It's lighter, and more turquoise. Probably when the snow is gone, in a few more weeks. Was a little disappointed with the twists at first, thought they were cables, but ended up learning a new technique. You can find the pattern here if you'd like to make your own.

Pillbox Hat

This is the Pillbox Flowers hat. The yarn is Paton's Classic Merino in a rose and winter white from our stash. The pattern is from the book knit hats!

Click on the title for the link to see the book. The hat needs blocking, will take it into work today and use the steamer on it.

Felted mittens

These felted mittens are a birthday gift for my Mom, to match the knitted hood she got for Christmas. Made from Paton's Classic in Light Natural.

What I have been working on lately

This is a baby sweater knitted from the top down. So far it's been easy, fun to knit, and the only seam will be the top of the hood. Will post another picture when it's finished. Here's the link to the pattern:

The yarn is Paton's Canadiana, a soft acrylic yarn, nice feel to it and while wool would be my first choice, my daughter threatens to bring wool things back to me to wash! It will be awhile before the baby will be able to wear this, it's the 12 month size. Lori picked out the color,we had fun looking at the yarn, and discussing options.
