Hit or miss rug

This rug was made on Oct. 20, 2007, from t-shirts and a Peaches and Cream cotton header. Variagated pink, yellow, purple and white. Measurements are 19" x 22"

Denim Rug

This rug was made on Oct. 20, 2007 and measures 19" x 35". Blue jeans for the weft material and Peaches & Cream cotton for the header, a variagated green, blue and white.

Bobble and Braid knitted hat

Wanted to show a close up of the hat. It is a Fiber Trends pattern, made from Paton's Classic Wool ( merino) and found it so enjoyable, have made two more since finishing this one. It will be my skiing hat.

2007 Fair Entries

These are my fair entries for this year. The white handspun yarn is bamboo, and it got a first place. The blue knitted hat got a red ribbon. The ball of black combed fiber for spinning received a blue, and the basket got a blue ribbon, also. The dark blob on the left side of the photo is our cat, who likes to be in on everything.

This is another shot of the first garden from a different angle, with a view of the playground. There are some bulbs planted here that never came up. We will see what happens in the spring.

Another photo

This garden has taken on a life of it's own, with nasturtiums and marigolds planted from seed, portulacas and marigolds that reseeded themselves, more asiatic lilies ( the stalks in the center) and a few columbine. They should bloom next spring, if they like the sunny conditions. If not, I'll move them to another spot.

School garden 2007

This flower bed has petunias, portulacas, marigolds,iris and asiatic lilies. It looked better earlier in the summer, they really thrived with the hot, dry weather we had. You can see one of the school's gazebos built by volunteers in the background, and behind that is a historical mining building that the local curling club uses in the winter.
